AURORA

First Hardy novel! September 2003

David writes: Although I have written (and illustrated) seven of my own non-fiction books, and several short stories, this is the first full-length fiction I have had published. I've always had a secret ambition to see my own cover on my own novel, so at last I've achieved it!

One day I realised that two short stories, written years ago and quite unconnected, could in fact be linked ~ and then the story taken further into the future. So this book is set during World War II, the 1970s psychedelic rock scene and ~ the main part ~ on Mars. But this isn't just about an expedition to Mars, and all is not what it seems ~ there are a few surprises. . .

Below: A COUPLE OF REVIEWS

I have been a science fiction fan for over 50 years, but recently have found very little science fiction I thought was worth reading. AURORA is the first SF novel I have read in a very long time that I thought had an original plot ~ and one that I did not guess the outcome by the end of the first chapter. (From Amazon.com)

This is a wonderful book that just wouldn't let me put it down. Beautiful imagery, a great story well told. As with all good stories the characters came vividly to life particularly Aurora herself who is portrayed with a deep sensitivity. (From Amazon.co.uk)
